After just one week in the Fantasy Chase, we’re already down to 183 players.
The Chase got a lot easier to win when 65 eligible players failed to sign up, leaving just 197 entrants in the 10-week, survival-style playoff.
But it’s not so easy when Aric Almirola blows an engine or Greg Biffle unexpectedly lays an egg in Week 1. Those drivers, along with AJ Allmendinger, caused 14 players to be eliminated — this despite having bonus points to hopefully serve as a buffer.
Many people also picked Carl Edwards, but since he finished 13th and everyone had at least one bonus point (which was only able to be used this week), they all survived. There won’t be any such safety net starting next week.
Anyway, it’s time to bid a fond farewell to the following people. We hope to see you again next season.
