Congrats to the Top 10 who made it this far. As you’ll be able to see by the picks below, I’ll likely have to rely on a tiebreaker in the event Kyle Busch wins the title. If the others win, it should be fairly clear.

Here’s how this works: If the person picked the champion correctly, they win. If multiple people picked the champion, it goes to second place as a tiebreaker, then third, fourth, etc. If it’s unclear or inconclusive, whoever’s Homestead winner pick has a higher finish will be the tiebreaker.

We have a very interesting development in the Fantasy Chase.

There are 10 spots open for the final round, but only two have been clinched so far. Two people picked Jimmie Johnson at Martinsville and no one picked Carl Edwards at Texas.

So where does that leave us? It could go one of two ways.

First, Kevin Harvick could win at Phoenix. A whopping 20 of 26 people picked Harvick to win this weekend, and 18 of them aren’t locked into the championship race yet. So that could really make things interesting for Homestead.

Second, anyone but Harvick could win — and that means there would be at least half the final round spots available on points. I did NOT expect that when I came up with this year’s format (I thought Homestead would all be filled by winners from the third round), so that would be kind of wild.

The cutoff for the final Fantasy Chase Round 3 spots was almost as exciting as the actual battle between Austin Dillon and Denny Hamlin at Talladega.

As it turned out, only five people picked Joey Logano to win at Talladega — and four of those were in win-or-go-home scenarios. That left three spots available on points to make the next round (25 people plus ties make it).

The results: A tie for the final spot, but we don’t have tiebreakers! So congrats to both @jayua and @mstjohn_ for barely making it in. So sorry to @tampawriter89, who missed the cut by an agonizing one point.

So we’re down to the final 26. I’ll send out a list of Martinsville picks later this week. If you were eliminated, thanks so much for playing and be sure to come back next year!

Well, well, well…this is interesting.

Due to Kevin Harvick’s unsurprising win last week at Kansas Speedway, there are now 19 people locked into Round 3 of the Fantasy Chase. That’s notable because there are only 25 spots (plus ties) available to move on from Round 2.

So depending on what happens this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, it’s possible the only way to make Round 3 will be to have won one of the three races. NO spots be available on points? Crazy, but we’ll find out soon if that’s the case.
