  1. You forgot Eldora… it has lights. So you replace one of the boring summer Pocono hot, daytime races with a night race at Rossburg. The race at the of July would be an excellent choice to eliminate. Plus, you could have a Wednesday/Thursday primetime show at Eldora. Time trials, heats, and LCQ on Wed at 6 PM EDT. Race on Thur 7 PM EST. Summer prime time TV schedule is all reruns, so that would help the sagging ratings. And most of all… it would be the best friggin race of the year.

By the way, of course, the three road courses don’t have lights… real road racing cars have headlights.

    1. I agree, maybe run Eldora the same week as Indianapolis. They will be in the neighborhood and won’t need to go all the way to Charlotte area from Rossberg. I think it would be great to run one of the road courses through city streets or the Circuit of the Americas. Change it up a little bit Iowa is begging for a race, take some of those tracks with two dates and give the second one to a new track. Instead of 2 races at Texas move one of those to Circuit of the Americas. I also think Nascar should consider a race in Canada. I have met some Canadians in the campgrounds at different tracks that are very loyal Nascar fans.

      1. Michael… If Iowa wants a race, how about Knoxville with a mid-summer race run on Wed/Thurs during prime time. My premise still is that Cup needs to make some changes if it is to survive. Primetime dirt races will attract new fans. Cost for tickets at Eldora for kids 12 and under? Zero. That’d how you build your fan base for the future.

  2. I wish Talladega would add lights. I think they are scared the natives would get restless. Lol

  3. Corey, you are right that the major thrust for Gluck is Cup. However, I think Jeff also thinks that Cup needs to make some changes if it is to survive. In fact, I think part of the reason Gluck is devoting a lot of time to other venues such as F1 and Indy Car is an effort to promote all types of racing in our country.

  4. Since, Talledega draws such big crowds why don’t they have lights? I think it would be an awesome track to have a evening/night race at. Even the same at Indy.

    1. why no lights because some tracks even to this date …….. because they don’t want to pay for the ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? to have them up especially when they aren’t being used for things like local events so that will add up when they don’t get put on
