Fantasy Chase 2015: Entries are open! (Update: Nope, closed now)

UPDATE: Fantasy Chase entries have now been closed.

Hello and welcome to the Fantasy Chase game for the 2015 NASCAR season! We had a great community play last year and I’m really looking forward to facing off against everyone again.

If you didn’t play last year, no worries. It’s a simple game, open to anyone and free to play. But for those who participated in 2014, make sure to carefully read the new rules below (the regular season format has changed).

Ready? Here we go:

FANTASY CHASE RULES:

1. Pick one driver for each race of the regular season. If your driver wins the race, you get credited with a win. You have to pick all 26 races when you enter.

2. You can pick the same driver as many times as you want (that’s one big change from last year). Heck, if you want to pick Jimmie Johnson every single week, you can.

You will have 15 drivers to choose from, plus an “Other.” If you don’t see the driver you want, just pick “Other” and you’ll be credited with a victory if anyone but the 15 listed drivers wins that week.

3. In order to clinch a spot in the Fantasy Chase, you must win *at least five races* (another major difference with last year’s rules). One victory isn’t going to cut it anymore, but don’t be too discouraged: @Adam_Huth won seven regular-season races last year under the old rules, which were much more difficult. So winning five should be doable.

Plus, the Fantasy Chase will be open to a minimum of 200 people — so if we don’t have 200 winners, the people with the most wins will become wild cards.

4. The rules for the 10-race Fantasy Chase will be announced later this summer. Subject to change, of course. Can anyone take down defending winner @sports2hiphop?

5. The deadline for picks is 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 21 (the night before the Daytona 500). One entry per person, please!
